Erik Kessels (founder of kesselskramer) came up with a very original photo book series called “in Almost Every Picture”, which document intimate, often banal and always strangely fascinating pictures of unknown people.
Together with Joep Eijkens he collected and edited the photo collection of the 88-year old ria van dijk from Tilburg, netherlands.
The chronological collection of issue 7 begins in the year 1936, when a 16 year old dutch girl picks up a gun and shoots at the target in a fairground shooting gallery. Every time she hits the target, it triggers the shutter of a camera. She still makes her pilgrimage to the Shooting Gallery.
It’s so fascinating to see how time goes by. changing fashion and companions over the last years makes these pictures look almost conceptual.
