match point

today we make a little retrospect of the french open 2011… in honor of this major sports event the parisian department store galeries lafayette turned the store into a tennis court for some time.

on its roof terrace galeries lafayette reconstructed the Central Court and a little Roland-Garros village for everyone to practice their drive after or inbetween the shopping experience.

references to the tennis theme were scattered around the entire department store and beautifully displayed in the shop windows along Boulevard Hausmann. the window displays would tell stories about the well known champion Ronald-Garros and his team.

the thematic transformation also coincided with the 40th anniversairy of galeries lafayettes’ partnership with lacoste and the official timekeeper of the tournament longines.
